Besides prayer, the most important thing you can do is contact your state senator and state representative by email, phone or personal visit. If you do not know who they are use the link "Find Your State Representative." If you know your legislators but need contact information, you can use the following links for your state senator or your state representative.
What should you say?
First, it is always best to use your own words. This web site is designed to give you ample information on the subject. Second, you should address your legislators by using their titles and always treating them with respect, regardless where they might stand on this issue. Third, tell them you are contacting them regarding Bill 6883 and you would like their support to get this bill passed this session. Explain we are asking the legislators to add this bill as an amendment and it has had a public hearing.
What should you ask them to do?
If they do not offer their position, ask them where they stand. Please note how they respond. They may respond in one of five ways by saying; yes, probably, undecided, doubtful or no.
Then What?
After receiving your legislators response please email or call us at 1-860-621-6701 immediately so we can keep track of the legislators commitments.
Remember, we need 19 Senate votes, 76 House votes and the Governor’s signature! This process will require much prayer and several weeks of hard work. 80% of all bills are passed in the last two weeks of the session. This year the session ends the first week of June.
Thank you for your help in getting Bill #6883 passed.
